    Only Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering students can apply for Engineering Services Examination.

    Separate cutoff is set for Objective Papers by the UPSC (out of 600 - for General Ability + 200 for each Objective paper). Conventional papers will be evaluated only if you score above the cut-off out of 600 as set by the Commission.
    There is an overall cut-off for written examination (out of 1000 – 200 for General Ability + 200 for each Objective papers + 200 for each Conventional Papers) for gaining selection for Personality Test. You will be called for the Personality Test (Interview) only if you surpass the cut-off marks.
    There is a final cut-off (out of 1200) for preparing the final list which recommends candidates for selection to the Commission.
    If you are absent in any one of the papers (General Studies, Objective – Paper I or Paper II or Conventional – Paper I or Paper II) your candidature stands cancelled.
    If you are absent for Personality Test, your candidature is cancelled and you will not be eligible for a selection in the final list in spite of having attempted all papers on written test.
    There is no limit on the attempts for Engineering Services Exam. A general candidate can attempt till the attainment of 30 years.
