1. ASSISTANT ENGINEER AE - ELECTRICAL - 170 POSTS - SALARY AND PAY : Rs 15600-39100 AND GRADE PAY R 5400  -  EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS  : Full Time 4 years’ B.E /B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electrical & Electronics (Combined) / Power Engineering / B.Sc(H) in Physics with 3 years’ B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE / IITs
2. ASSISTANT ENGINEER AE - CIVIL - 5 POSTS - SALARY AND PAY : Rs 15600-39100 AND GRADE PAY R 5400  - EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS  : Full Time 4 years’ B.E / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE / IITs
3. ASSISTANT ENGINEER AE - IT&C - 14 POSTS - SALARY AND PAY : Rs 15600-39100 AND GRADE PAY R 5400  - EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS  : Full Time 4 years’ B.E /B.Tech / B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science / MCA (full time) / B.Sc (H) in Physics and B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from a recognized University / Institute approved by AICTE / IITs.

AGE LIMIT : Upper age limit 27 years as on 01.01.2012 with relaxation for SC/ST and OBC candidates of West Bengal for 5 years and 3 years respectively.

APPLICATION FEE : on refundable Crossed demand draft of  400/- as processing and Examination fees for Sl. No. 01 to 05 and  300/- for Sl. No. 06 and 07. SC / ST candidates from the state of West Bengal are exempted from paying any fees.   The Demand Draft once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances and should be drawn in favour of "West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd." payable at Kolkata only. Demand drafts payable at locations other than Kolkata will not be accepted.  Money Order / Postal Order or any other mode of payment is not acceptable.

SELECTION PROCESS SYLLABUS EXAM PATTERN : Selection will be made on the basis of performance in the Written Test and Interview. Candidates called for Written Test/Interview shall not be entitled to reimbursement of travelling expenses. The Written Test & Interview will be held in Kolkata only. The written test will cover the tests for General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Reasoning, General English and Arithmetic, apart from tests of knowledge in the respective professional subjects and streams like IT / Civil / Electrical / HR / Finance etc.
