WHAT IS CSIR AIEEA-PG 2013 ?

ICAR’s 18thALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION (AIEEA-PG-2013) TO 25% SEATS IN MASTER DEGREE PROGRAMMES OF AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITIES, 100% SEATS OF ICAR DEEMED-TO-BE-UNIVERSITIES AND AWARD OF  ICAR-JRF (PGS) IN AGRICULTURE & ALLIED SCIENCES FOR ACADEMIC SESSION 2013–14 

COURSES AVAILABLE :

Master degrees are awarded by Agricultural Universities in 93 sub - subjects under 20 major subject-groupsnamely (1) Plant Biotechnology, (2) Plant Sciences, (3) Physical Science, (4) Entomology and Nematology,(5) Agronomy, (6) Social Sciences, (7) Statistical Sciences, (8) Horticulture, (9) Forestry/Agroforestry and Silviculture, (10) Agricultural Engineering & Technology, (11) Water Science & Technology, (12) Home Science,(13) Animal Biotechnology, (14) Veterinary Science, (15) Animal Sciences (16) Fisheries Science, (17) DairyScience, (18) Dairy Technology, (19) Food Science Technology, and (20) Agri-Business Management.

AGE LIMIT :

Indian Nationals having age not below 19 years as on 31.08.2013 (i.e., candidate should not have been born after 01.09.1994) are eligible to appear in the examination. No relaxation is admissible regarding the minimum age limit .

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS / ELIGIBILITY :

Candidate must have passed (or due to appear at the final examination) their Bachelor degree in theconcerned field under 10+2+5 (B.V.Sc.), 10+2+4 years degree programmes may apply for this examination.Very few options in limited universities namely (i) CCSHAU, Hisar, (ii) Dr. YS Parmar University, Solan,(iii) PAU, Ludhiana, (iv) IARI, Pusa, (v) SHIATS, Allahabad, (vi) JAU, Junagadh, (vii) SKDAU, Gujarat,and (viii) GBPUA&T, Pantnagar are also available for candidates having passed Bachelor degree with 10+2+3 year degree programme in few basic science courses.

ADMIT CARD :

The Admit Card, in duplicate, has been provided along with the Application Form. The candidate must fill all the entries in the Admit Cardexcept roll number and examination venue, retain one copy (candidate copy) and submit the other copy (office copy) along with the application.The roll number allotted to the candidate and the venue of examination would be displayed on the ICAR website at www.icar.org.inas per Application Serial Number on booklet (offline application) / application Serial Number on computer generated confirmation page (online applications) and Date of Birth, from where the candidate is required to note down the details and fill the same in the copy of the Admit Card (candidate copy) retained by him/her. This copy of Admit Card duly attested by Principal of the College last attended or a Gazetted Officer must be brought to the Examination Hall for appearing in the examination.

APPLICATION FORM AND FEE : 

1. The forms can be obtained by cash payment from Registrars of Agricultural Universities or from the specified branches of Syndicate Bank and also from eight ICAR Institutions by payment through Bank Draft from 26th December 2012 to 15th February 2013.
2. FROM SYNDICATE BANK BRANCHES THROUGH CHALLAN :On payment by cash through challan in the following four branches in Delhi only:(1) 1st Floor, Arunachal Building, 19, Barakhamba Road, New Delhi (2) Delhi Tamil Sangam Building, Sector 5,R.K. 3. FROM ICAR INSTITUTIONS (By Depositing Bank Draft Only)Information Bulletin with Application Form can be obtained, in person, by depositing an account payee bank draft of amount mentioned above from the sale counters at the following ICAR Institutions:(i) CARI, Port Blair, (ii) CIFE, Mumbai, (iii) IVRI, Izatnagar (iv) NAARM, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, (v) NDRI,Karnal (vi) ICAR, Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, Meghalaya (vii) ICAR Research Complex for Goa, Ela, Old Goa and (viii) Examination Cell (Education Division), Room No. 216, ICAR, KAB-II, Pusa, New Delhi.
4. Online Application - This is an alternative option to OMR forms. Online Application and downloadable prospectus will be available on ICAR website. A Demo Online application form will also be available on the website for acquainting the candidates with this technique and practicing before online submission of application. The candidate has to visit www.icar.org.inand click the option of filling online application AIEEA-PG-2013. The candidate can download prospectus and then fill his / her form online. He/ she need not purchase the separate prospectus or fill his form manually on OMR Sheet.

FEE PAYMENT DETAILS:

1. Making payment through Bank Challan == After filling the Online Application, candidate has to take a print out of his filled up application and bank challan(in 3 copies) through which he / she has to deposit cash (fees) in the nearest Syndicate Bank branch. Bank will return two copies of challan duly stamped. Candidate will retain one copy of the challan. He / she will Information Bulletin-AIEEA-PG-2013 enclose the second copy (duly stamped by the bank) with his / her filled in computer generated confirmation copy printout and send it to COE (Edn.) by post at the given address.
2. Making payment through Credit / Debit card  == using Payment Gateway of Syndicate Bank During online filling of the form, candidate can also opt for making fee payment through Credit card / Debit card using Payment Gateway of Syndicate Bank. In this case the candidate will make payment directly through his computer and will not be required to visit the bank. Receipt of such payments/application is  Confirmed immediately.
3. Making payment through NEFT  ==  While filling the form the candidates may also opt for ‘Payment through NEFT’. When candidates have selected this option, after filling the form, a NEFT Challan shall be generated. The candidates can take a print out of this Challan and send NEFT remittance through any branch of any bank. In such cases, the candidates must fill the information as available in the NEFT Challan generated through ICAR website. The candidates must obtain the UTR number from the Bank through which they have sent NEFT remittance. The candidates are required to enclose a photocopy of the Banks’ challan bearing the UTR number along with the application without fail

RESULTS:

The result of the AIEEA-PG-2013 is likely to be declared after 3rd week of May 2013 and will be placed on ICAR website.The copies of the result will also be displayed at the Examination Cell of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan II, Pusa, New Delhi-110 012.

18th ALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION (AIEEA-UG-2013) TO 15% SEATS IN BACHELOR DEGREE PROGRAMMES AND AWARD OF NATIONAL TALENT SCHOLARSHIPS IN AGRICULTURE & ALLIED SCIENCE SUBJECTS (OTHER THAN VETERINARY SCIENCE) IN AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITIES AND 100% SEATS IN DAIRY TECHNOLOGY AT NDRI KARNAL FOR ACADEMIC SESSION 2013–14

ABOUT ICAR AIEEA-UG 2013 :

Triggered primarily by professional and academic linkage with Agricultural Universities, Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi has been able to foster a countrywide arrangement with the AUs to set aside 15% of their seats for Bachelor degree programmes to be admitted through ICAR’s All India Entrance Examination so as to reduce inbreeding,increase mobility among students, encourage national integration and infuse merit and uniform examination standards leading to improved overall quality of agricultural education. Accordingly, ICAR conducts All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) to Bachelor degree programmes in agriculture and allied subjects, other than veterinary sciences, at Agricultural Universities on 15% of the University seats every year. For NDRI, Karnal, an ICAR-Deemed-to-be-University, 100% seats are filled up through the above examination. National Talent Scholarships (NTS) are awarded based on the AIEEA-UG examination to all those candidates who take admission outside their state of domicile. Further, not more than 40% candidates from any one state are admitted in any agricultural university/subject. ICAR’s 18th AIEEA-UG-2013 examination for the academic session 2013-14 will be conducted at 42 examination city centres spread all over the country, enabling Participation of a large number of candidates seeking admission in Bachelor degree programmes in AUs in different disciplines. Candidates qualified for counseling will be considered for allocation of subject and the Agricultural University as per counseling procedure described hereinafter. There is no direct nomination for admission through ICAR in any Bachelor degree programme without qualifying in this examination.

DEGREE COURSES AVAILABLE :

Admission to 11 Bachelor degree programmes of four years duration in the subjects of: (i) Agriculture (ii) Horticulture (iii) Fisheries (iv) Forestry (v) Home Science (vi) Sericulture (vii) Biotechnology (viii) Agricultural Engineering (ix) Dairy Technology (x) Food Science and (xi) Agricultural Marketing & Cooperation etc. is available to Indian Nationals based on merit-rank in ICAR’s All India Entrance Examination.

COURSES AND STREAMS :

11 degree programmes are categorized into two Streams viz. Stream-A: Agriculture/Biologyand Stream-B: Mathematics. The candidate has a right to exercise option only for one Stream at the time of submitting the application. The option once exercised cannot be changed subsequently.

1. STREAM-A (Agriculture/Biology):Candidates under this stream can seek admission for Bachelor degree programmes in Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Forestry, Home Science, Sericulture, Food Science, and Biotechnology.
2. STREAM-B (Mathematics):Candidates under this  stream can seek admission for Bachelor degree programmes in Agricultural Engineering, Dairy Technology, Agricultural Marketing & Co-operation and also in Forestry, Food Science and Biotechnology at some of the Agricultural Universities provided Biology has been one of the subjects during 10+2 examination.

AGE LIMIT :

Indian Nationals of at least 17 years of age but not more than 23 years as on 31.08.2013 (i.e. must have been born between 01.09.1990 to 01.09.1996) are eligible to apply for the examination. No relaxation of age will be allowed to the candidates except for SC/ST/PH categories where upper age limit would be relaxable by 5 years

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION ELIGIBILITY :

Candidate must have passed 10+2 Senior Secondary Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education or any other examination within scope and standard found to be equivalent to the Senior Secondary Examination of an Indian Board/ University after a period of 12 years of study. The last
two years of such 10+2 examination should have papers in Physics, Chemistry and any one of the subjects from Biology/ Mathematics/ Agriculture* /Home Science. Besides, for admission in the Universities specifically located in non-Hindi speaking areas, candidate must have passed English as a core  subject in 10+2 examination.  Intermediate with Agriculture and having not studied Physics and Chemistry as separate subjects may also be eligible for admission in some SAUs in State of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh

 ICAR NATIONAL TALENT TEST SCHOLARSHIP - NTS
National Talent Scholarship would be available through the Agricultural University concerned, to every student admitted on ICAR seat at any Agricultural University, at the rate of `1,000/- per month during the period of study .
