AGE LIMIT : Candidates age msut be as given below for various category candidates as on last date to submit the application form

• SC Between 18 to 37 years
• ST Between 18 to 37 years

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :  Candidates who posses Matriculation  and  National Apprentice Certificate (NAC)/National Trade Certificate (NTC) issued by NCVT are eligible to apply.
Note: (a) If candidates with NAC / NTC are not available in a particular trade then applicants with ITI or equivalent qualification will be considered against vacancy of the trade. (b)  Degree and Diploma in Engineering will not be accepted as qualification for Direct Recruitment to the semi-skilled posts
SELECTION PROCESS : Short-listed candidates on the basis of written examination will be called for practical/trade test. Practical/trade test will be purely of qualifying nature. The selection will be made strictly as per merit, on the basis of written examination subject to getting qualified in the practical examination.
CALL LETTER / INELIGIBLE CANDIDATES LIST : The candidates whose applications are rejected are also intimated through post along with the cause of rejection. The details of eligible as well as ineligible candidates for a particular post are also put on the website of OFRB at least one week prior to the written examination for that post. OFRB will not be responsible for any postal delay/wrong delivery of call letters/Rejection letters. OFRB do not intimate candidates who are not selected in written examination or any other test
SYLLABUS AND EXAM PATTERN : There shall be negative marking in written examinationsand marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer @1/4 of the allotted marks for each question.The syllabus for the written Examination will be in conformity with the educational standards and/or technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The Questions will be of objective type with multiple answers. Questions will include a few questions on aptitude. Duration of the examination will be 90 minutes for 100 multiple choice questions. Question other than technical will be of Matriculation standard. MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS with the FOLLOWING TENTATIVE BREAK-UP

• 70% of the questions should be in the relevant Trade
• 5% for Reasoning (Verbal and non-Verbal)
• 10% for Technical aptitude
• 10% for Quantitative Aptitude
• 5% for General Awareness on everyday life and science

APPLICATION FEE : An application fee of Rs50/-.No fee will be charged for SC/ST, Women, PWD (Person with Disability), ex-TAs of O.F. Dumdum and Ex-Servicemen candidates.
