INDIAN AIR FORCE IAF IS INVITING ONLINE APPLICATIONS FROM THE ELIGIBLE CANDIDATES FOR AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST 01/2013 FOR PROVIDING ADMISSION IN TO COURSES COMMENCING FROM JANUARY 2014 AND JULY 2014 IN FLYING BRANCH , TECHNICAL BRANCH AND GROUND DUTY BRANCH FOR RECRUITMENT OF COMMISSIONED OFFICERS AND THE DETAILS OF THE RECRUITMENT IS AS GIVEN BELOW . FLYING BRANCH

COURSES
  • No.  13  Short  Service  Commission   (13  SSC)  Course - commencing from JANUARY 2014
AGE LIMIT : 19 to 23 years as on 01 January 2014 i.e. Born between 02 January 1991 to 01 January 1995 (Both  dates  inclusive).(Upper  age limit  for  Candidates holding valid and current  Commercial  Pilot  Licence   issued by DGCA  (India) is  relaxable  upto  25  years  i.e.  born  between   02  January  1989   to   01  January  1995  (Both  dates  inclusive
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Graduates (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognised University who have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together and have  passed  Maths  and  Physics  at  10+2  level  OR   BE /  B  T ech  degree  (Four  year  course)  from a  recognised University  with  minimum 60% marks  in  aggregate  in  all  papers  put  together 
PHYSICAL STANDARDS : (i)   Height and Weight: Minimum height : 162.5 cms with correlated weight,   Leg Length : Min - 99 cms.  Max  -  120  cms.  Thigh  Length  :  Max  -  64  cms.  Sitting  Height  :  Min  -  81.5  cms.  Max  -  96  cms.(ii)    Vision:  (a)  Minimum Visual  Acuity  6/6  in  one  eye  and  6/9  in    other ,  correctable  to  6/6  only  for hypermetropia.  (b)  Manifest  Myopia  -  Nil.  (c)  LASIK  Surgery  for  correction  of  vision  is  admissible  in Transport  and  Helicopter  streams  of  Short  Service  Commission  (Flying  Branch)  if  the  following  conditions are  fulfilled  at  the  time  of  Air  Force  medical  examination:-   (i)  LASIK  Surgery  should  not  have  been  carried out  before the age of  20 years.  (ii) The axial  length of  the eye should not  be more than 25.5 mm as measured  by  IOL  master .  (iii)  At  least  twelve  months  should  have  lapsed  post  uncomplicate  stable  LASIK. No history or evidence of  any complication.  (iv) The post  LASIK corneal  thickness as measured by a corneal  pachymeter  should not  be less than 450 microns.  (v)  Individuals with high refractive errors (>6D) prior  to  LASIK  are  to  be  excluded.  Candidates  must  not  suf fer  from colour  or  night  blindness.(iii)    All  other   medical  criteria  would  be  evaluated  by  the  Air  Force  Medical  Authorities  whose  decision  on the  fitness  would  be  final.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS :
  •  FOR 84  AEC  /  56  SSC  COURSES : (I)Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}. -  Candidates applying for  AE (L) branch   would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised University  or  cleared  Sections A  and  B  examination  of Associate  Membership  of  Institution  of Engineers (India)  or Aeronautical Society of India  or  Graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and T elecommunication Engineers by actual (ii)  Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical)  {AE  (M)}. -   Candidates applying for  AE (M)  branch   would be eligible if they have undergone a minimum of four year degree qualification from a recognised University  or  cleared  Sections A  and  B  examination  of Associate  Membership  of  Institution  of Engineers (India) or  Aeronautical Society of India by actual

  • FOR ACCOUNTS BRANCH- Graduate Degree in Commerce (B Com)(Minimum three year degree course) with a minimum of 60%  marks in    aggregate  of  all  papers  put  together  or  Post  Graduate  Degree  in  Commerce (MCom)  /  CA  /  ICWA   with a  minimum of  50%  marks in  aggregate  of  all  papers  put  together .
  • FOR EDUCATION BRANCH - Post Graduate Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put  together .

SELECTION PROCEDURE :All  applicants whose applications have been submitted by due date will be called for Air  Force Common Admission T est (AFCA T) to  be  conducted  on  24  February 2013  (Sunday)  at one  of the examination centres  mentioned below.    All the  selection  related  communication  regarding  information on  AFCAT  and  AFSB  testing  would  be  communicated  to  the  candidates  through  E-Mail  at  their registered  E-Mail IDs  or through  IAF  career website www.careerairforce.nic.in  .  The entrance test  will be of two hours duration and will contain multiple choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning,  general awareness and military aptitude.
