AGE LIMIT : Candidates age must be 18 to 33 years for UNRESERVED CANDIDATES , 18 TO 36 YEARS FOR obc candidates and 18 to 38 years for SC/St candidates as on 1 JANUARY 2014
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Minimum 10th Pass / ITI Pass or equivalent at the time of applying. Academic qualification must be from a recognized Educational Institution / Board, otherwise candidature will be rejected. Candidates having higher educational qualification may also apply.
SELECTION PROCESS : The recruitment process consists of a Written Examination followed by
Physical Efficiency Test (PET),and Medical Examination.
WRITTEN TEST SYLLABUS EXAM PATTERN : The Question paper for the Written Test shall be of Class 10th standard, consisting of 100 multiple-choice (four) objective type questions, mainly aimed to assess general knowledge/awareness, mathematics, general science and reasoning etc. The duration of Written Test shall be of 90 minutes. Question paper shall be printed in Hindi, English, Urdu, Marathi and Gujarati only. There will be Negative marking for wrong answers. 1/3 rd Mark shall be deducted for each wrong answer i.e. one mark shall be deducted for every three wrong answers.
APPLICATION FEE : Candidates need to pay an application fee rS 100 /-  . The fee shall be paid only in the form of Crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of ‘Assistant Personnel Officer (Recruitment), RRC-WR’ and payable at Mumbai. Candidates belonging to SC/ST, Ex-servicemen, Persons with Disabilities, Women, Minority communities and Economically Backward Classes are exempted from payment of Examination Fee.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY : Ex-Servicemen who have retired after putting in 15 years of service and have passed Army  Class  -I certificate or equivalent or Matric are eligible to apply. The eligibility of retired Defence Personnel to the status of Ex Service Man is governed by the definition as laid down by Department of Personnel and Training.
SELECTION PROCESS : The selection process comprises, i.  The recruitment shall be on the basis of scrutiny of application and medical fitness for the post. ii.  There will be no written examination/interview or Physically Efficiency Test. iii.  The panel will be formed solely on the basis of their length of military service subject to  medical fitness .

Candidates who are  appearing at and/or awaiting results of final examination of class 10th  on the last  date of downloading of application are not eligible to apply. Academic qualification  must be from a recognized Educational Institution / Board/University, otherwise  candidature shall be rejected. Candidates having higher educational qualification may also apply.
SELECTION PROCESS : Candidates  would  be  required  to  appear  for  Written examination (objective type multiple choice questions) on a common date to be announced Later by Ministry of Railways. They would be required to qualify Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Examination also, to be announced later after successful conduct of written examination. Final recruitment panel will be based on candidates qualifying the written examination, physical efficiency test, medical examination and document verification. Merit shall  be  strictly  based  on  marks  obtained  in  written  examination.  Date  and  Time  of Examination will be fixed based on administrative feasibility. No request for change of time, date and centre of examination will be entertained on any account. Candidate trying to use influence or unfair means would be disqualified. Western Railway Administration reserves the right to allot the successful candidates against any of the available posts//division/place.

APPLICATION FEE :The Examination fee for unreserved and OBC candidates is Rs 40/‐ (Rupees Forty) only. The examination fee would be required to be paid in the nearest STATE BANK of INDIA branch only (and NOT in any of its 7 subsidiary branches like State Bank of Patiala or State Bank of Bikaner, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Travancore, etc.). Candidates should download the CHALLAN FORM FOR FEE PAYMENT from our website only from PRINT CHALLAN FORM link after filling their online registration number and date of birth.  After downloading the application and the Challan, candidates should deposit the fee only on the next working day or any subsequent day after 1130 hrs only by presenting to the Bank the original Challan form.
