SELECTION PROCEDURE :-

1.WRITTEN TEST :- Eligible candidates will be required to appear for an objective type written test at any one of the test centers. The test will comprise of two sections - Technical section comprising of 100 questions related to qualifying degree for the position and General Aptitude section comprising of 50 questions covering Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, Reasoning and English Language. The duration of test will be two hours. Each question shall carry 1 mark and 1/4th mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. The test will be in English language.

SALARY AND PAY : Selected candidates will be offered a basic pay of 20,600/- p.m. in the scale of 20,600-3%-46500/-(E-1). On successful completion of training, they will be designated as Junior Managers in the same scale of pay. Besides Basic Pay, the Management Trainees will also be paid Dearness Allowance. They will also be entitled for other perquisites and benefits such as PF, Gratuity and other perks & allowances as per rules of the Company in vogue. In addition, the Company provides benefits like Leave encashment, housing/HRA and free medical facility for self and dependents as per rules in vogue. The CTC would be around 7.62 lakhs p.a. An amount of 5000/- per month will be deducted from the total emoluments during the period of training and probation, as retention amount, on returnable basis on confirmation of service in the Company after successful completion of training and probation period. The retention amount will be forfeited, on leaving the service/termination of service before confirmation. As this would be direct recruitment on initial basic, the Company will not bear any liability on account of Salary/ leave salary/ pension contribution etc., of previous employment, if any.
AGE LIMIT : Candidates born not earlier than 1st February,1986. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) and 10 years for PWD candidates. PAYMENT THROUGH PAY IN SLIP State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the application/processing fee, in a specially opened account (No.32286155304) at CAG Branch, New Delhi, on behalf of SAIL. Candidate has to approach the nearby SBI branch with a printout of the “pay-in-slip” which can be downloaded from the SAIL website at Registration Portal after filling in the requisite details. The pay-in-slip with the application no. should only be used for depositing the fee for proper crediting of amount in the allocated account. SALARY AND PAY : Selected candidates would be posted as Management Trainees in any of the Production, Overhaul or Services Divisions / Research & Design Centres / Offices, based on the requirements of the Company. They will undergo 52 weeks of training programme, comprising of various training modules including theoretical &on-the-job training at various places. The location where the selected candidates will be posted will be decided before joining HAL. During the training period, the Trainees shall drawa Stipend comprising of Basic Pay, Variable Dearness Allowance & Canteen Allowance. Besides, bachelor accommodation or House Rent Allowance is also admissible during the training period, depending upon the place of posting, as per company rules. The approximate Cost to Company (CTC) per annum during training is Rs. 4 to Rs. 4.5 lakhs. On successful completion of the training, the Trainees would be absorbed as Engineers / Officers with a Basic Pay of Rs. 16,400/- in the Grade-II Scale of Pay of Rs. 16,400-40,500/-. On absorption, the candidate will be eligible for Basic Pay, Variable Dearness Allowance, other Perks & Allowances, Company Accommodation / House Rent Allowance, Performance Related Pay, Leave, Medical Facilities, Provident Fund, Gratuity etc as per company rules. The approximate CTC per annum after absorption as Engineer / Officer is Rs. 6 to Rs. 6.5 lakhs, depending on the location of the posting.
AGE LIMIT : Upper Age limit not above 28 years as on 01.10.2012for General category candidates. Upper Age limit is relaxable by 5 years in respect of SC/ST candidates. SELECTION PROCESS :Eligible candidates will have to appear for an Objective Type Competitive Online Test at their own expense, on the date, time and venue, which will be mentioned in the Admit Card.
EXAM PATTERN AND SYLLABUS : The test will be of 2 ½ hours duration. The te st will be in three parts. Part – I will consist of 20 questions on general awareness. Part – II will consist of 40 questions on English & Reasoning. Part – III will consist of 100 questionson the concerned discipline of Engineering / Finance / HR. The test can be taken in Hindi or English. Candidates will have to give their choice for appearing in Hindi orEnglish at the time of applying for the post which can not be changed subsequently.
EXAM CENTERS : The Online Test will be held at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Noida, Pune & Vijayawada. Candidates are required to choose any two cities as preference – 1 & 2 for Test Center and no change in any circumstance will be considered subsequently. APPLICATION FEE : andidates belonging to General/OBC (NCL) is required to pay a non-refundable fees of Rs 500/-. SC/ST/PH/ employees of Coal India Ltd and subsidiaries are exempted from the payment of application fees.State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the application fee, in a specially opened Power Jyoti Account No. 32306580317 on behalf of Coal India .

ADMIT CARD DOWNLOAD : Candidates who are allowed to appear for the All India written examination are required to login to Coal India website to down load/print their admit card for appearing at the written test. Candidate should carry the admit card to the test center for appearing at the written test. No candidate shall be allowed for written test without a valid admit card.
